What is a reload bonus?
A reload bonus is a deposit-match bonus for existing players: a top-up reward you get on deposits after your welcome bonus, not just on sign-up.
Reloads are usually smaller than the welcome offer (e.g. 25 to 50% up to a cap) and often run on a schedule: weekly reloads, weekend reloads, or as part of a VIP program. They carry their own wagering requirements.
Reload bonuses reward loyalty and keep regular players topped up; their long-run value depends on the wagering terms, just like any other bonus.
Key points
- A deposit match for returning players, not new sign-ups.
- Usually smaller than the welcome bonus, often scheduled (weekly/weekend).
- Carries its own wagering requirement.
- Common in VIP/loyalty programs.
FAQ
What is a casino reload bonus?
A casino reload bonus is a deposit match offered to an existing account, not a new sign-up: you deposit again after your welcome bonus and the casino matches part of it, usually 25 to 50%, on its own wagering terms.
How is a reload bonus different from a welcome bonus?
A welcome bonus is a one-time offer for new accounts; a reload bonus is an ongoing top-up for existing players on later deposits.
Are reload bonuses the same as loyalty bonuses?
Not exactly. A reload bonus is a single deposit-match offer; a loyalty (VIP) program is the broader tier system it often lives inside, which can also include cashback and rakeback. Many operators schedule reload bonuses specifically for their VIP tiers, so the two overlap without being interchangeable.
Are reload bonuses worth claiming?
Run the math before you claim: a $50 reload at 35x wagering means $1,750 of turnover, and on 4% house-edge slots that turnover has an expected cost of about $70, more than the bonus itself. A reload is only worth it when the wagering multiplier is low or the funds are paid wager-free.
